Fullerton College works with local high schools to help transition students to Fullerton College. High school students can take advantage of dual enrollment and special admit programs to start earning college credit while still in high school. Additionally, the North Orange Promise Program provides first-time freshmen with up to two years of tuition assistance at Fullerton College.

North Orange Promise Program | 2 Years Free

The North Orange Promise Program is designed to provide the first two years of college for free for first-time freshmen. It is an extension of the Anaheim Pledge which launched in fall 2018 and has since served more than 800 graduates from Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) during the 2018-19 academic year and the Fullerton Educational Partnership, which was developed the same year. The success of those pilot programs created the demand and a model for North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) to expand the number of incoming eligible students in 2019 offering the opportunity to any new first-time student.

Under the program, entering students who meet eligibility requirements will receive two years of their education completely free of tuition and health fees. Students must be:

  • First-time college students
  • High school graduates or accepted equivalency
  • A California resident, AB540 or DREAM approved applicant

Once accepted into the North Orange Promise Program, students (at minimum) must:

  • Enroll full-time for at least 12 units in fall and spring semesters
  • Complete a current financial aid (FAFSA/CADAA) application
  • Develop a Student Education Plan with the help of the college counseling team
  • Earn a minimum of 2.0 grade-point-average in the fall semester to maintain status for the spring

Dual Enrollment

High school students can earn college credit by enrolling in one or more courses offered by Fullerton College in partnership with schools at Anaheim Union High School District, Brea-Olinda Unified High School District, Fullerton Joint Union High School District and Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Dual enrollment course offerings vary by school district. Students who enroll and complete a dual enrollment course gain access to priority registration and resources and support services available to all Fullerton College students. Special Admit

Fullerton College offers students enrolled in K-12 the opportunity to enroll in advanced scholastic or vocational work as Special Admit Students. Enrollment must be for “advanced scholastic or vocational work” and NOT for pre-college level math, English and reading courses offered by local high schools.
